From a recreation point of view, Oakville has plenty to offer.  There are three picturesque harbours with thousands of sailboats and power boats.

The Town of Oakville was founded in 1827 and to this date, has a strong heritage, preserved and celebrated by both residents and visitors.  Oakville has all of the qualities of a great community, with quality schools, great neighbourhoods, the arts, libraries, easy access to major highways, the GO trains, fantastic shopping and many excellent restaurants.
